Presented by the Foundation for Asian American Independent Media (FAAIM) in conjunction with the 24th annual Asian American Showcase.

The visible world around us often goes unnoticed. Some might say ignored, or even worse, forgotten. Everyday, we pass by people, places and things sometimes unintentionally, other times on purpose. But what do we see can be clouded by misperception or preconceived notions that stereotype the subject or object being portrayed. The artists in this group show look at themselves and their surroundings through familiar and unfamiliar lens. Their sense of aesthetic reconsiders the mundane and ordinary, paying attention to details or not, casting a new light on things that we take for granted. Often things that are the same look different when seen through different eyes and mean something else because of so-called differences. With so much to look at, they are creating new historical records which question how people see them and how they view the world asking who is invisible? What is unseen?
